The deep sickening crunch
of organizational contraction
pulverising contracts and hapless helpers
whose sin was to keep the gears slipping.

When taking over means blending means
fading digital photographs
scrambled to intranet serfdom
under new separated logos; a unified banner.

Slow, the realization that it's not a merger
but a takeover.  This means you're not
one of them.  But one of us.  The lost.
And historically, you were a valued one.

For as your honest contributions with others
turned Culture into a tangible cohesion -
It sowed the seeds of profitability,
and turned this ponderous business healthy.

An achievement, heads turned, spewed green
from the stock market pundits who cawed
"Indeed, laudably healthy - Indeed, buyably!"
by the greedy.  Credit from consortium junkies.

Irony in my first contract, excluded but
here again. The doubts, don't doubt.
You did good.  You must have - after all,
You're saleable.  Disposable.
Repo Roughage;  Stockmarket Silage.
